Working with the ‘Bully’

This course, initially developed for the 2007 National Workshop of the Association for Counselling at Work, now BACP Workplace, has been well received by course participants and has been featured in the Counselling at Work Journal for Winter 2007/8 click to read the article - Bullying

It focusses on working with those who are accused of bad workplace behaviours rather than maintaining the current approach of working with the recipients.

This is what one participant wrote about the course.

“Damian challenged us to visit and re-visit some of our beliefs and thoughts about ‘bullies’ and victims and to explore stereotypes and traditional ways of dealing with each. (He) skilfully encouraged the participants of this workshop to explore their own feelings around bullying, being bullied and working with bullies and in a way turned the tables on the received wisdom of current practice.   • Bullying and Harassment Investigator Training Course
    Our flagship training course for developing "anti-bullying champions" in the workplace. These are people who will be equipped with a wide range of skills in identifying, investigating and resolving issues of workplace bullying.
  • Dignity at Work Advisor Training

Supporting those who have complained about bullying, without taking sides is a difficult role to fulfil.  This course provides people with the skills to acheive that aim.

Personal Skills Courses
These courses cover a wide range of topics, from interpersonal communication skills through to stress management. These are included as often the root of bullying behaviour is found in interpersonal communication – either as 'target' or 'bully'.

 

Conflict Resolution and Mediation Skills
A course designed to help managers and supervisors tackle issues around workplace conflict by using mediation and basic counselling skills.
